Intro

Natural Dimensions were commissioned to produce a highly detailed townscape and visual impact assessment for a proposed tall hotel building within the protected Liverpool Docks World Heritage Site Buffer Zone facing the famous waterfront.

The report

Liverpool City Council have approved plans for the building after Natural Dimensions successfully demonstrated that the hotel building would fit with its surrounding urban context through expert analysis of surrounding urban character and unique features which makes the Liverpool docks such a special place. The townscape assessment  was conducted through extensive site surveys, data gathering  and analysis based on a wealth of townscape analysis experience. The visual impact of the building was determined through analysis of thirteen separate viewpoints from various distances, elevations and view types to provide a full picture of the impact of the new feature on the sensitive dockland skyline.
