Part of a transformative social housing project, the gardens skillfully reimagine two separate Victorian terrace gardens into one communal woodland garden for supported living accommodation.

The gardens at Upper Chorlton Road were part of a  refurbishment and extension of two former town houses to create 12 supported living apartments, providing move on accommodation for homeless people.  The scheme offers a safe, dignified, and supportive living environment at a critical time in their lives. The woodland gardens were an important part of the support environment. They provide a shelter, allow a calming space with quiet wooded corners and seating for outdoor support. The gardens also allow residents to develop horticultural and gardening skills providing a platform for future work. The gardens and the building were superbly delivered by J. Greenwood Ltd , staying true to our design and our aspirations for this socially impactful space. We extend our sincere thanks to our project partners for their expertise and collaboration throughout.
