Lying in close proximity to Pennington Flash, Lyme and Wood Pits country park, the landscape of this 130 plot residential development provides an extension to the semi rural character of its setting and responds to the existing great crested newt habitat and substantial woodland.
Natural Dimensions were lead landscape and ecology masterplanners for the residential development to determine suitable positions for amenity space, woodland, replacement newt habitat, detention ponds and play areas. Detailed planting plans for all amenity space and garden plots were produced. Natural Dimensions also designed play areas and produced landscape management plans.
The residential development designs divided the development into two parcels to break up the building mass with greenspace. Amenity included new collections of native woodland specimens and substantial hedgerows. Ecological enhancements comprised wetland and wildflower planting around a drainage detention pond and a chain of replacement newt ponds surrounded by appropriate habitat.
