Carlisle’s new city centre square and event space was officially opened on Saturday 18th October with a fantastic day of celebration. This 5000 sq.m project funded by the Government’s Future High Streets and Levelling Up Funds, is an urban transformation of the Greenmarket, Market Square and the Castle Street which aims to re-vitalise Carlisle commerce and increase footfall and tourism. Opening day included speeches, live music, refreshments and a large makers market covering the whole square.
