We are absolutely thrilled that Merstham Park School has been shortlisted for the prestigious Society of Garden and Landscaper Designers Awards #sgldawards2026. It means so much to us that Merstham Park School has been recognised as we so strongly believe in the benefits that high quality landscape and garden space give to learning environments. Nick Atherton’s design has been shortlisted alongside some really excellent private gardens and well known garden design industry names so it’s especially rewarding that a publicly funded school project has been recognised. We will keep you posted about the awards results.
The project was also shortlisted for the Pro Landscaper Biodiversity and Sustainability awards in 2025. Although missing out on the main award, the judges loved “the rich diversity of native species to form an enriched habitat for wildlife and green space for school users” and gave high praise to the design ” as an impressive example of how to do municipal design serving multiple benefits”.
