As we get into the final stages of the build for the regeneration of Carlisle’s Market Square and Greenmarket, the different paving designs are emerging, defining different spaces but blending together with colour tones and patterns. Porphyry fantail is used for shared space areas adjacent to historic buildings, the stage has its own language and the Market Square transitions from the arcing porphyry bands at the town hall turning head area into a mix of greys, pink and buff.
